In April 2018, the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL), jointly organized by the American Computer Association (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Computer Society (IEEE-CS), announced its new JCDL Steering Committee. After peer review and voting, a total of eight outstanding scholars in the digital library research field from around the world were selected, including Prof. Stephen Downie who is the associate dean of Information School at UIUC, Prof. Ed Fox who is ACM Fellow & IEEE Fellow of Computer Science Department at Virginia Tech, etc. Our faculty, Prof. Dan Wu is the only Steering Committee member who is from Asia. The JCDL Steering Committee is responsible for the long-term planning and convening of the JCDL meeting, the preparations for the next few years of the conference, assessing the progress of each session, and making plans and recommendations.
